Interview with a vampire...about vampires.

Hi. Riley Hansel here. Lately, Veronica has been receiving questions about vampires and we figured, well, if you want to know about cars, you ask a mechanic, right? And if you want to know about vampires, ask a vampire.

So here I am. If you read below and have any other questions, you can email me at Riley {at} VeronicaBlade {dot} com.

Q: Does it matter what type of blood you drink?

A: Human, animal, whatever. A-, B+ - it's all good, baby! Makes no difference so long as it's fresh or has been properly preserved (e.g. blood banks).

Q: How are vampire's sexual capabilities?

A: The same as yours except our perceptions are much keener, enabling us to experience sensations more acutely than a human. If we draw blood during - all the better!

Q: What is the most common misconception about vampires?

A: That all vampires are evil. The ratio of evil vampires is just about the same as with humans. The only difference is that evil vampires are capable of so much more destruction.

Q: What does blood taste like?

A: Have you ever pricked your finger and sucked on it? You know what it tastes like. I think there is a bit of vampire in all of us.

Q: How do you kill a vampire?

A: First, make sure he's not one of the good guys. If he's rotten, cut off his head or burn him to ashes.

Q: What about a stake through the heart? Doesn't that kill you?

A: As long as the stake is lodged in the heart, the vampire will remain paralyzed, but it won't kill us.

Q: Do vampires have to sleep in coffins?

A: No. We prefer beds.

Q: What does a vampire do to keep from getting bored for all eternity?

A: Get creative or become very bored, just like anyone else.

Q: Do vampires have a reflection?

A: Yes. If something is there, it will reflect in the mirror.

Q: Do religious items, such as crosses and holy water, affect vampires?

A: No. We can even walk into a church.

Q: Can vampires turn into bats?

A: No, we cannot change our form.

Q: Can vampires fly?

A: No. But with our superhuman strength, we can make long leaps or high jumps that make us appear to be flying.

Q: Do vampires breathe?

A: Sure, but we don't need as much oxygen as humans so we're able to hold our breath for a very long time. And speaking is very difficult with exhaling.

Q: Can vampires read minds or control humans?

A: Only if we make a "connection" by feeding from them. And as vampires get older, it becomes easier to link up to another vampire without physical contact.

Q: Are vampires destined to be creatures of the night for all eternity?

A: No. However, fledglings are so sensitive to the sun that they are usually unable to stay awake during the day and direct sunlight can make them so weak, (rendering them unable to move) that they eventually turn to ashes. But the tolerance to sun increases with age. A vampire that is thousands of years old may be capable of staying in the sun for hours.

Q: Do vampires mate for life?

A: We are bound for all eternity once we've exchanged blood and slept together. That's vampire law.
